Calling all fast food addicts!!

So, this is the very first action Fast Food Addict is taking to let you know that we’ll soon be on your radar.  Who are we?  What are we?  Well, we’re your one stop source for anything to do with the world of fast food.  America, you know you love it.  Fast food is everywhere and now you have a site to express that love (or if you don’t like it, you can pay a visit too…).  We’ll be chock-full of info about all the various chains out there.  We’ll review them and tell you where to find them.  You can hop on the site and give your own reviews as well.  Who’s got the best burger out there?  The best shake?  You’ll be able to vote on it, and tell everyone why.  Believe it or not, we’ll even have some advice on staying healthy.  Plus, merch, contests, and more.

So we figured we’d start out with a couple reviews to stoke the fire a little.  Remember, this is just our opinion and we want yours.  Read-up, and then maybe go do a little market-research…

White Castle          ****

I love White Castle, cuz it’s the best (Beastie Boys reference, anyone?)…  This place is justWHITE CASTLE LOGO great, I don’t care what anyone says.  Yeah yeah, I have a couple friends with weak stomachs who really “feel it” a couple hours after visiting, and honestly there aren’t any women I know who will go here with me.  Who cares, I love it.  I had only heard rumor of a place where they served-up tiny burgers until I went to college near Pittsburgh.  The band I played in took me out to Ohio on a regular basis and they had a WC in the Canton area.  The first time I saw it the gig could wait because we had to hit the drive thru.  Besides, rock n roll is never on time right?

I loved the whole concept immediately.  They were burgers but different, something to do with steam-cooking.  They had a few different kinds, and you could even stack ’em.  Plus they had chicken sandwiches in the same fashion.  Throw in fries, onion rings, and cheese sticks and I was diggin’ this place.   I enjoy everything I’ve had at WC, but I’ve never had anything on the breakfast menu.  I’ll admit that I mainly focus-in on the same thing whenever I go.  Usually a cheeseburger, bacon cheeseburger, and a jalapeno cheeseburger with fries.  You can’t beat that combo.  And for some strange reason, after midnight this place becomes even more appealing to me (rivaling only that of Taco Bell).  On the downside a couple of their dipping sauces were kind of weird-tasting, and some locations leave a lot to be desired in the soda department.  But if you want a burger, or just fast food in general with a twist, you have to hit this place.

I find it interesting that they put the little burgers in tiny boxes, put them on a paper plate, then put it on a tray and give it to you.  Different.  Some locations really don’t have a very big dining area, and I’ve encountered a lot of messy, unkempt locations.  Service is usually good though.  This is not a nationwide chain however.  The furthest north and east I’ve seen them is New Jersey.  The furthest west and south is Kentucky.  If you do live down south though there’s a chain almost identical to them called Krystal.

Fast Food Addict is giving White Castle 4 stars.  We love this place.  It’s unique, it’s yummy.  Plus, have you noticed recently how many other restaurants are offering tiny little burgers called “sliders”?  Imitators, all of them.  Go there, eat, now!                                                                                           DT

Taco Bell          ****

I absolutely love this place.  It’s been an obsession for me since college, so a lot of bias will come thru here.  I just love Mexican, Tex-Mex type food in general, and this place has just up and earned a place in my heart (or stomach).  Anyone remember when you could get hard tacos here for just $.49?  Ah, those were the days.  Along with White Castle, something strange happens after midnight and makes the food even more appealing to me.  Let me tell you though, if you eat a Grilled Stuft Buritto at 1 am, your dreams are going to be pretty crazy later that night.  A decent portion of my younger days went down at TB.  Lots of memories, lots of good eatin’.

crunchwrap   Whenever I go to Taco Bell with someone more than once and notice that they’re getting the same thing again I freak-out.  See, I like everything on the menu.  Some more than others but I could order anything and enjoy it.  From the most recent Bacon Club Gordita to classics like the Volcano Burrito.  Let me stress, I enjoy it all.  There is nothing on that menu I won’t eat.  Sure, I might not order the Taco Salad a whole lot but that doesn’t mean I don’t like it.  While I’m at it here, why do some Taco Bells still have Chili Cheese Burritos and some don’t?  I’m not sure why but if you get a chance to have one go for it.  The soda selection is just great.  Two types of Mountain Dew?!  Just that alone is excellence in my mind.  You know what? I challenge anyone to prove they’re into TB more than me.  Bring it on…

I’ve been to many Taco Bells over the years.  They’ve come in various shapes and sizes and let me tell you, the service and presentation have been all over the map.  I may love the food to death, but I’ve been to quite a few sub-par locations.  I’ve got it down to a science in the areas I frequent regularly.  I know where the ghetto TB’s are, and I know where the nice ones are.  It comes down to cleanliness and service.  I know this menu so well that when I get a poorly-made Meximelt I can tell almost immediately.  In addition, I can walk in the door and usually know how well things are going to go due to how clean the dining area is.  Don’t get me wrong, I’ve been to many great locations.  It’s just that for a chain as popular and wide-spread as Taco Bell, you’d think they’d be a little more strict on the presentation of their locations.

Fast Food Addict is giving four stars here.  It was tempting to give a 5 but perfection is hard to achieve. They missed out mainly due to the poor presentation at many of their locations. Yeah yeah I know, most will say Taco Bell is not true Mexican.  Sure, if you want the real, bona-fide Mexican food experience go to a restaurant near you (because everyone has one) where they barely speak English and the eats are great.  But if you just want to get in and out quick, or simply have a “craving” for this particular type of Mexican, I fully recommend TB.  Heck, I admit it, I hit them at least once a week…                                                                                                                                                                    DT
